On 13 May 2004, Dame Tessa Jowell, Steve Cram, TASS Director Guy Taylor and a number of talented young athletes gathered at HM Treasury to mark the launch of the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme. With funding from Sport England, it was announced that the scheme would form part of the SportsAid family. The celebratory event concluded with afternoon tea with the Prime Minister’s wife, Cherie Blair, at 10 Downing Street.
